For many countries you have to apply for a Vietnam visa before you can enter the country, you can not just fly in, buy a visa at the airport and go on in like some other countries. 

Before applying for Vietnam visa you should know how long you will stay for the country, How many times you will enter and exit the country. The visa online like VOA (visa on arrival ) can be issued online for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year for multiple entries and single entry. However 6 months and a 1-year visa type only for USA Passport holder. 

For VOA (visa on arrival ) and E- visa (Electronic Visa ) you must decide the travel date before buying a visa. Apply with the correct entry and exit day at the time of purchase of the Vietnam visa. You can arrive any time on or after your arrival date but you must leave by your planned departure. 

For example, You already applied for a 1-month single-entry tourist  Vietnam Visa VOA (visa on arrival ) with arrival on Mar 1st, 2020, And departure on Mar 17th, 2020. After you applied you will receive the approval letter for your Vietnam visa on arrival which valid for 30 days since the arrival date you applied for since the beginning. That means your visa will valid from Mar 1st, 2020 to Mar 30th, 2020. You can arrive on March 2nd, 2020 or Mar 5th, 2020, any day since the arrival date in the visa letter. You can leave the country as Mar 17th, 2020 which the day you applied for or you can change the exit day to any day but you must leave the country by the end of the day on Mar 30th, 2020.

You should also have knowledge of how to read the Vietnam visa letter or visa stamp or Vietnam visa sticker in the correct way. You should not misread the visa expiration date. The format of the entry date or exit date in the Vietnam visa letter for  VOA (visa on arrival ) and E- visa (Electronic Visa ) or visa stamp or Vietnam visa sticker is read as DD/MM/YYYY. as an American, that was wrong if you read as MM/DD/YYYY.

For example: If your exit day in your passport was given as 7/6/2020 you should read as JUNE 7TH 2020, if you read as an American it will become  JULY 06 2020 this is incorrect. Read correct arrival and exit day in the wrong way can cause overstayed and you can be in the blacklist of the Vietnam immigration system for your next Vietnam visa application. 

E- visa (Electronic Visa) is valid for 30 days with single entry only for business and tourist purposes. 

If you want to stay more than 30 days for your business you can apply for 3 months visa type. 3 months visa type only valid for 85 days since the arrival date you applied in the beginning 

For 6 months and 1-year visa type only for USA Passport holder, if you apply for tourist visa type each time you arrive in the country you only have 85 days period of staying. After 85 days you have to leave the country and come back to receive a new period. For business visa type USA passport can stay for the all-time with the 6 months and 1-year visa type without leaving. 

You can not arrive sooner and stay past your exit day on your visa. If you want to arrive sooner 1 day with the arrival date stated on the letter when your visa letter is from us, you can contact us to fix it. If you want to stay past your exit day in your visa you have to extend your visa from Vietnam immigration or some travel agent near your place.
