Vietnam Adds 12 More Countries to Visa Exemption List

Travelers from 12 European countries can soon visit Vietnam without a visa, thanks to a new policy starting August 15, 2025.

This new policy, valid until August 14, 2028, applies to citizens of Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland. Visitors from these countries can stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days per visit, regardless of passport type, as long as they meet the general entry requirements set by Vietnamese law.

The introduction of this policy is part of Vietnam’s ongoing efforts to make travel more convenient for international tourists. It comes at a time when the country is already seeing impressive growth in tourism. In the first seven months of 2025 alone, Vietnam welcomed 12.2 million international visitors, which is 22.5 percent higher than the same period in 2024 and 25 percent above pre-pandemic levels in 2019.

By expanding visa exemptions and simplifying entry for more travelers, Vietnam is strengthening its position as a top destination in Asia. Tourism officials are optimistic that these new policies will help the country attract even more visitors during the upcoming peak travel season.
