Unlike Visa On Arrival that is valid for entry at Vietnam international airports only, visitors who hold Vietnam Electronic Visa are allowed to enter the country through one of the following 33 ports, including airports, land ports, and seaports.

Note:

• For Vietnam Electronic Visa, entering at the applied port is required. If you want to change your entry port after applying for a Vietnam Electronic Visa, you need to apply for another one.

While Vietnam Visa On Arrival requires no documents for the online procedure, Vietnam Electronic Visa has some documents requirements that applicants need to provide. Tourist visa valid for 1 month with a single entry. So you can just enter Vietnam once. Tourist visas may be extended after your arrival in Vietnam.

• Vietnam Electronic Business Visa: like tourist visa, Vietnam Electronic Business Visa is for those who enter Vietnam with the working of purpose. It’s usually valid for 1 month, allowing single entry only.

After applying for Vietnam Electronic Visa at our site:

• The Vietnam Electronic Visa is the type of Vietnam visa with a maximum duration of stay in Vietnam of less than 30 days and a single-entry. This point is very important that you do not want to miss.
• The validity period of your Vietnam Electronic Visa begins from the start to end date specified in your approved Electronic Visa letter. You can use it to enter Vietnam on any date within this validity period. Please keep in mind that your Electronic Visa letter will be useless if you enter Vietnam before or after the validity period specified in your Electronic Visa.
• The Vietnam Electronic Visa holders must present the printed the Electronic Visa and 6 months validity passport at the checkpoint that indicated in the letter. You should print the Electronic Visa letter out for departure and Visa procedure at Vietnam airport. If you do not have a printed letter, you might get into trouble with the Vietnam Immigration Office.

Applying for a visa may be your priority when planning to travel to other countries where your visa exemption is unavailable. Therefore, you must be very happy and relax once your visa is issued. And you should feel the same way when your Vietnam Electronic Visa is granted except for some things you should notice for the visa procedure at Vietnam airport.

• Step 1: Find the Vietnam Immigration counter after landing. For Vietnam Electronic Visa, you do not need to come to the landing visa counter which is Visa on Arrival for applicants.
• Step 2: At the Vietnam Immigration counter, you need to present your passport which is valid for at least 6 months and your printed Vietnam Electronic Visa. The officer will check your documents so this step will take a while.
• Step 3: Receive your passport with a visa stamp on. At this step, you should spare your time to take a look at your visa stamp and check the validity which should be matched with the one on your Electronic visa. If there any error, please report the officer right away.

As you see, the procedure for Vietnam Electronic Visa is very simple and time-saving with only three steps. Unlike Visa on Arrival, you do not need to go through the visa procedure and submit the entry and exit form, your photos at the landing visa counter. What if your hotel or accommodation is not in one of 4 cities Ho Chi Minh, Ha Noi, Da Nang, or Nha Trang? 

Fortunately, that would not be a problem if your hotel or accommodation is far from one of 4 cities Ho Chi Minh, Ha Noi, Da Nang, or Nha Trang because we also provide car transfer services from ie to city. However, the fee of Airport Pick-up service, in this case, will be higher than normal depending on your destination.

For Airport Pick-up airport, you need to provide your hotel or accommodation address that you are going to stay in Vietnam when booking. We will arrange the Airport Pick-up service for you based on that information. Our driver will also acknowledge your hotel address in order to drop you off at the right place. The process of our Airport Pick-up service is simple and quick if the information such as your flight details, hotel, or accommodation address that we receive is all correct.
But in some cases, you would like to change your hotel or accommodation address due to some personal reasons after booking our Airport Pick-up service. You may feel confused and do not know what to do next or simply forget to keep us posted on your change until the last minute. Please keep in mind that since you book our Airport Pick-up service, any changes in your arrival time, flight details and hotel or accommodation address should be updated with us as far in advance as you can or at least 24 hours before your arrival date.

What if you do not provide your updated hotel or accommodation address to us? 

Planning a trip can be stressful because there is plenty of stuff that you need to prepare. That can result in forgetting to inform us 24 hours in advance when you change your place of stay in Vietnam. And you may not realize that until landing in Vietnam and meeting our driver. In this case, you need to get in touch with us via our email visa@vietnam-immi.com or our hotline (84) 327.117.119 as soon as you meet our driver al the Arrival hall. We will text our driver your updated hotel address so he can be aware of the change. And it might cost you some extra fee with the amount depending on each case.

When booking our Airport Pick-up service, you might also look for the Airport Drop-off that can give you a ride to the airport to travel to other places in Vietnam or return to your country after finishing your trip in Vietnam. Fortunately, we do offer this service besides the Airport Pick-up service. With our professional drivers and customer support, we can ensure your transfer to Vietnam airports peace and safe.

Being interest in our Airport Pick-up service but wonder how long our drivers wait for you if there’s any change upon arrival? Here is some information that may be helpful for you. 

Our drivers are experts in airport transfers. They will wait for you at the Arrival Hall of the airport and will be ready to pick you up with the pickup time received once you have passed the visa procedure, passport control, and luggage claim. Normally, the driver will be at the Arrival Hall of the airports 15 minutes prior to the pickup time and continue to wait for you up to 2 hours from selected pickup time.

If there is any delay with your flight, please get in touch with us as soon as possible by calling any of our priority numbers in our email confirmation. We will update our drivers about the change, so they can arrange to pick you up at the right time. And that will cost some extra fee for waiting time if your delay lasts than over 2 hours. Otherwise, our driver will leave after a reasonable time. 

Extra waiting time and charges

Sometimes, your arrival time is delayed with unexpected reasons that you are not aware such as the procedure at Vietnam Immigration Office or luggage claim is too long or simply just need some extra time that exceeds your complimentary waiting time. In this case, you should contact our Customer Support team as soon as possible. Your driver might be able to wait for you for longer, but please be advised that the additional waiting time will result in an additional charge which is $10 per 1 hour. This extra fee needs to be settled online via our payment online gate. 

If your driver has not met with you and your complimentary waiting time is running out, our Customer Support team will try to contact you by phone or email so please be mindful that you switch your mobile device on.

The Temporary Resident Card/ TRC  is a paper issued by the Immigration or competent agencies of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, which are granted to foreigners who are permitted to reside for a definite term in Vietnam. Foreigners wishing to enter Vietnam for work, business or legal relative visits are required to apply for a Temporary Resident Card/ TRC.

Cases in which a foreigner can obtain a Temporary Resident Card/ TRC in Vietnam:

• Foreigners are members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, representative offices of international organizations of the United Nations, intergovernmental organizations in Vietnam, or the spouse, a child under 18 years of age, housemaid that comes along during his/her term of office. A compulsory condition for granting a temporary residence card is a valid passport must be at least 13 months from the date of application.

To apply for a new Temporary Residence Card, you need to prepare:

• A written request of agencies, organizations and individuals offering, guarantee and propose for temporary residence card.
• 01 declaration of information of foreigners who apply for temporary residence, with photos and sealed by the agency or organization: A written request for temporary residence card
• Notice of use of the seal of the enterprise.
• Two 3 x4 cm size photographs;
• Passport.
• 01 copies or photo (bring the original for comparison) proof of the purpose to stay in Vietnam.

In order to work legally in Vietnam for a certain period of time (up to 2 years), a foreigner must have a Work Permit or Certificate of exemption from Work Permit.

Foreigners are exempted from Work Permit or Certificate of exemption from work if they are foreign experts, managers, chief executive officers, or technicians who work in Vietnam for a period of under 30 days and an accumulated working period of under 90 days per year.

Foreigners need to get Work Permit if they are working in Viet Nam (hereinafter referred to as foreign workers) in one of the forms below:

• Working under labor contracts
• Being transfer within an enterprise
• Performance of any of the following types of contract, namely economic, commercial, financial, banking, insurance, scientific and technical, cultural, sports, educational, vocational training or medical health contracts
• Foreigners responsible for establishing a commercial presence
• Managers, executive directors, experts, and technical workers
• Other cases prescribed by the Government

Since the procedures of applying for a Work Permit are quite complicated, the period of application is usually from one month to two months, the laborers and employers have difficulty in preparing all documents. You can not use Business Visa to work, in the long run, you must get a Work Permit which your company in Vietnam can assist you to get. You have to get the Guarantee from the Vietnam Company that you are working for. You cannot do it by yourself caused there are some documents that can only be prepared by a Vietnamese company/organization with full legal capacity.
The Police Officer will come to check and make a report if foreigners can not submit Work Permit or Certificate of exemption from Work Permit. Foreigners will be expelled from the country and pay the penalty fee.  The company in Vietnam could face a heavy fine and could be marked on the list of Vietnam Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs.

When you submit documents to get a Work permit, a business visa is a must document. You should be on a Business visa sponsored by your company in Vietnam. The Police Officer will come to check and make a report if foreigners can not submit Work Permit or Certificate of exemption from Work Permit, foreigners will be expelled from the country and pay the penalty fee.  The company in Vietnam could face a heavy fine and could be marked on the list of Vietnam Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs.

Foreigners are exempted from Work Permit or Certificate of exemption from Work Permit if they are foreign experts, managers, chief executive officers, or technicians who work in Vietnam for a period of under 30 days and an accumulated working period of under 90 days per year.

Foreign citizens can get Certificate of exemption from Work Permit if they are being:

• Capital-contributing members or owners of limited liability companies
• Members of the Board of Directors of joint-stock companies
• Heads of representative office and projects of international organizations or non-governmental organizations in Vietnam
• Internal movement in enterprises operating in 11 service sectors specified in Vietnam’s commitments schedule to the WTO
• Other cases prescribed by the Government

Foreigners need to get Work Permit if they are working in Viet Nam (hereinafter referred to as foreign workers) in one of the forms below:

• Working under labor contracts
• Being transfer within an enterprise
• Performance of any of the following types of contract, namely economic, commercial, financial, banking, insurance, scientific and technical, cultural, sports, educational, vocational training or medical health contracts
• Foreigners responsible for establishing a commercial presence
• Managers, executive directors, experts, and technical workers
• Other cases prescribed by the Government

Since the procedures of applying for a work permit are quite complicated, the period of application is usually from one month to two months, the laborers and employers have difficulty in preparing all documents.

Prior to carrying out the procedures for Work permit/Certificate of exemption from work permit, the enterprise needs the approval from the Government to use foreign labor (Form 03).

Certificate of visa exemption or five-year visa exemption is a type of document stuck onto your passport that permits citizens of another country to enter and stay in Vietnam for a specified period of time without obtaining a visa as well as paying fees related to entry and exit Vietnam.

The five-year visa exemption period is up to 5 years and is shorter than the expiry date of the passport or international travel document of the grantee for at least 6 months.

For each time entry, the duration of stay is not over 180 days. you can check on the stamp which you will receive when entering Vietnam. 

The duration of stay does not exceed 90 / 180 days for each entry. It will depend on the decision of the Immigration Officer.

Processing time to get this Certificate of visa exemption or five-year visa exemption is about 7 - 10 working days since full documents are submitted.(excluding weekends and holidays). But we can support you to get it faster by processing in Urgent case.

• Criminal card No. 1:issued at the request of Vietnamese citizens, foreigners who have been or are currently residing in Vietnam and state agencies, political organizations or socio-political organizations for serving human resource management, business registration, establishment, management of enterprises, cooperatives.
• Criminal card No. 2:granted to the procedure-conducting agency and granted at the request of the individual so that he/she can know the contents of his/her Criminal Record.

Classification of Criminal Record:

• Criminal card No. 1:issued at the request of Vietnamese citizens, foreigners who have been or are currently residing in Vietnam and state agencies, political organizations, or socio-political organizations for serving human resource management, business registration, establishment, management of enterprises, cooperatives.
  
  
• Criminal card No. 2:granted to the procedure-conducting agency and granted at the request of the individual so that he/she can know the contents of his/her Criminal Record.

Therefore, you should contact the organization that asks you to provide a Criminal Record certificate to know which type of Criminal Record Certificate from Vietnam you need to obtain. 

Criminal Record or police check or judicial record takes about 10 - 15 working days since full documents are submitted (excluding weekends and holidays). If foreigners have been in Vietnam for more than 6 months, you can get this Criminal Record in Vietnam instead of one from your country. It means foreigners will have one less document which needs to be legalized. Please be noted that all the documents issued not in Vietnam need to be consular legalized, translated into Vietnam, and notarized in Vietnam.

Foreigners should contact the organization who asks you to provide a Criminal Record certificate to know which type of Criminal Record Certificate from Vietnam you need to obtain. When you get a wrong type of Criminal Record, it takes more time to prepare documents again, time for waiting such as pay more fees to get another Criminal Record.

Classification of Criminal Record:

• Criminal card No. 1: issued at the request of Vietnamese citizens, foreigners who have been or are currently residing in Vietnam and state agencies, political organizations, or socio-political organizations for serving human resource management, business registration, establishment, management of enterprises, cooperatives.
• Criminal card No. 2: granted to the procedure-conducting agency and granted at the request of the individual so that he/she can know the contents of his/her Criminal Record.

We will use the EMS of VN Post to deliver this Criminal Record to your home address even though you live in a foreign country. Please be noted that the time to deliver depends on the Post Office. We will check with them the fee such as an estimated time of arrival. The tracking number will be sent to your Email.

It depends on which Criminal Record that you want to get, Criminal Record No 1 or Criminal Record No 2.

Procedures for requesting the issuance of Criminal Record No. 1
Individuals may authorize other persons to carry out procedures for requesting the issuance of Criminal Record. The authorization must be established in writing under law. In case a requester for a Criminal Record is a parent, spouse, or child of the person requested to be issued a Criminal Record, no written authorization is required.

Procedures for requesting the issuance of Criminal Record No. 2
Procedures for issuance of Criminal Record No 2 to individuals comply with Clauses and 2, Article 45 of this Law. Individuals who request the issuance of a Criminal Record No 2 may not authorize others to carry out procedures for such requests.
